SKELETON ATHLETE

About me
I came from an unconventional sport: Ballet. I studied dance for 11 years before getting sidelined due to a knee injury. Looking for a replacement sport, a childhood memory of watching a sliding competition in my hometown of Calgary inspired me to seek out skeleton. I instantely knew I wanted to commit to a life of chasing speed after taking my first run at the Whistler Sliding Centre. The following summer of 2018 I moved out at 16 to work for the facility and further my involvement. At first it was challenging to manage the costs of training and living on my own, especially hailing from a low income family. However those experiences shaped my strong work ethic and discipline. Four years later I am pleased to say that I'm now a Team Canada Next Gen athlete.
